Redness & Rosacea
Redness of the skin is commonly triggered by the heat of the sunny tropical weather as well as our love for spicy foods. It is a manifestation of increased skin sensitivity and increased vascularity.
Rosacea, a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes on-and-off flaring of redness over nose, mid cheeks, chin or forehead regions, is not uncommon. Long term complications include development of unsightly red vessels beneath the skin known as telangiectasia, as well as red pimple-like papules and pustules that can be painful and distressing.
There is no cure for redness and rosacea. Early recognition and control are key to avoid sudden flares which can be embarrassing.
